Power zone change will increase electric rates in the Hudson Valley

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has ordered the New York Independent System Operator, a not-for-profit corporation regulated by FERC, to create a new capacity zone that will effect electric rates in the Hudson Valley. This capacity zone is referred to as Zone NCZ = New Capacity Zone. Implementation is scheduled for May 2014.
